Under the NDIS framework (Registration Group 0125), this core support funding is designed to help you actively take part in social, recreational, or economic activities within your local neighborhood. Whether it’s a hobby, a sport, or a social gathering, this service provides the hands-on support worker care required to make community interaction accessible for you.
We build your community participation entirely around your personal choices, goals, and interests. Our support workers can accompany and assist you with:
Connecting you with local gaming groups, book clubs, art circles, or community workshops.
Accompanying you to local sporting matches, swimming classes, bowling leagues, or gym sessions.
Going to watch movies at the cinema, attending live theatre, visiting museums, or exploring local markets.

This service is funded under your Core Supports budget under the category Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation (often listed as Access Community Social and Rec Activ).
Participate Community (Core Supports) provides the direct support worker hours needed to take you to and assist you during an activity. Innovative Community Participation (Capacity Building) focuses heavily on specialized mentoring to help you learn the skills to transition into mainstream networks independently over time.
Your NDIS funding covers the support worker’s time to accompany you. However, personal expenses such as movie tickets, meal costs, or entry fees to an event must be covered by you. In most cases, companion cards can be used (if participants have one) to cover the support worker’s entry fee for accessible venues.
